Nagarjuna as Raavan Raju?

If everything goes according to plan, Nagarjuna will play the role of Raavan as Raavan Raju, head of a corporate house in the forthcoming Ram Gopal Varma’s film, Ramayanam.
This is not going to be a run-of-the-mill story. Ramu is giving the story a twist. It is about the rivalry of two corporate houses, Ayodhya Group of Industries and the Lanka Group of Industries. A source close to the directors told that Ramu approached Nag as soon as the story came to his mind.
The director said that he has always been fascinated by the Hindu epic and wanted to give it a contemporary twist.
However, the reason behind casting a leading star as a demon king raises suspicion about his intention, as he could perhaps justify the abduction of Goddess Sita, since he is fascinated with exploring “darker side” of humans.
This rather heady combination of actor and director could attract a lot of interest since they have churned out films like Shiva and Antham in the past.
It seems that the mythology bug hasn’t spared even a film-maker who glorified gangsters and factionists in his dark movies.
